Global, December 14, 2023: In a much-awaited reveal, the cover of the 2024 Kia Sonet has been removed, indicating its impending arrival next year. During the global launch event, Kia India’s Sales Head Hardeep S Brar revealed that bookings will start from December 20th for his Sonet using the K code. Customers were advised to secure a lift. The revised 2024 Kia Sonet boasts three engine choices that cater to diverse tastes. A 1.0-litre turbo petrol engine, a 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine and a 1.5-litre diesel engine. The 1.0-litre powertrain develops 118bhp and 172Nm of torque, while the naturally aspirated petrol engine develops 82bhp and 115Nm of torque. The diesel version, on the other hand, delivers strong power with 114bhp and 250Nm of torque.
Enthusiasts can choose from a variety of gearbox options for each engine. The 1.2-litre engine comes with a five-speed manual, while the 1.0-litre unit is available with a choice of six-speed iMT or seven-speed DCT. Additionally, diesel engines offer flexibility with options such as manual, iMT, and automatic transmissions.
The upgraded Kia Sonet introduces an array of cutting-edge features, most notably 10 segment-first innovations including Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) with 10 self-driving features. Safety measures are enhanced by the inclusion of six airbags, which complement the enhanced touchscreen infotainment system. The exterior design has been renewed and the interior has been given a dual-tone finish, further enhancing the Sonet’s appeal.
