According to fire brigade officials, the fire broke out around 7:45 a.m. Some local residents saw smoke coming from the closed service center and alerted the fire brigade command center. Five fire engines from nearby fire stations were dispatched.

Fire department official Prabhakar Umratkar said no one was inside the facility as the service center was closed. Umratkar said the fire was brought under control within 20 minutes. Afterwards, he said he used water to cool the area to avoid a secondary fire.
According to fire brigade officials, at least 25 motorcycles inside the service center were completely destroyed in the fire. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
