Jonathan Millan won the second stage of the Tour of Guangxi, despite missing out on victory in the opening stage. Jonathan won by a bicycle length over Arvid de Klein (Tudor Pro Cycling) after great work from Cameron Scott and Dusan Lajovic, executing the sprint to perfection.
With this victory, Milan leads the GC with a four-second lead over Dries de Bont (ADC) and takes the lead in points and the Best Young Rider category.
The busy man, who took to the podium in Qinzhou in Milan, thanked the great team for his efforts. They helped me and supported me a lot. In the end, they got me into the perfect position possible for a sprinter. I did a sprint and things went perfectly. I’m really happy and having fun now.
When asked how he stays motivated, Johnny replied: “I’m looking forward to the holidays too, but a race is a race. It’s always nice to win for myself and for the team. I’m looking forward to bringing something to the team this season too, so it’s important. Thing”
“Yesterday’s performance motivated us and I showed it to myself. I think I started at a good time today. I just did a sprint, and I got it done.” , it’s really gratifying to see so many fans on the road supporting us all.”
Sports Director Gorazd Stangeli commented:
“Plans are plans, but it’s not so easy along the way. Yesterday, the boys did a really good job with second place, but today everything went well. Jonathan once again showed great talent. Right. I was really happy that the timing was perfect for me to win.”
“Tomorrow will be a difficult stage to control, so let’s take it one day at a time. We have to have a good plan for tomorrow. So far we have won the stages, so I’m happy. I need to be and we’ll see tomorrow.”
