Libya’s largest bank, the state-run Jumhouria Bank, was one of the main sponsors of the 18th Annual Islamic Banking and Finance Conference of the Accounting and Auditing Organization for Islamic Financial Institutions (AAOIFI) and the Islamic Development Bank (IsDB).
AAOIFI is a Bahrain-based non-profit organization established to maintain and promote Shariah standards across Islamic financial institutions, participants, and the industry as a whole.
The conference was held in Bahrain from November 29 to 30, with the theme: “Strategies for the impending economic slowdown and a post-oil world: through economic diversification and leveraging Islamic finance.”
