Newport Fishermen’s Wives is a nonprofit organization of wives, mothers, daughters, and friends of fishermen who support a strong sense of community and promote industry, safety, fisheries education, and family support.
With the support of our community partners, we provide a number of programs to the fishing community, including emergency funds (for local fishing tragedies), funeral support, fishermen’s memorial reserves, holiday support for fishing families, scholarship funds and blessings. can do. As a nonprofit organization, we can only achieve our goals with the support of generous donations from members of our community. On December 16th, we will be distributing holiday outreach boxes to commercial fishing families in need. We are reaching out to our community partners to solicit donations for the event.
Our holiday outreach requires many resources to be successful. We have more applicants than ever before, but we have not yet received the donations needed to support all of them.
Not only do we provide hearty food boxes to fill families’ pantries, but we also provide turkey and side dishes for holiday meals.
