The 19th Annual Charity Sports Auction, hosted by the Syracuse University Sports Management Club, will open for bidding online via OneCause on November 24th and will take place during the Syracuse men’s basketball game against Louisiana State University (LSU) on December 28th. It will be a hybrid auction. . Online bidding ends on Wednesday, November 29th. The Sports Management Club includes students from Falk College. Club members are responsible for collecting sporting items available during the auction and contacting athletes, agents, and organizations for donated items.
This year’s recipient is Tilly’s Touch, a nonprofit organization founded in 2008 by Dale Johnson to help young people overcome barriers and maintain a 100% high school graduation rate. The organization’s goal is to impact the lives of Central New York’s youth, provide opportunities to play sports, and help children achieve academic excellence. Tilly’s Touch serves 1,500 youth annually.
Over the past 19 years, the Sports Management Club has raised more than $665,000 for nonprofit organizations in Central New York. This year’s featured items include a Super Bowl football autographed by Tyreke Hill, a baseball autographed by Ichiro Suzuki, a basketball autographed by Buddy Boiheim, and more.
Furthering the auction’s mission of impacting the community, Apex Entertainment is this year’s title sponsor. “We’re really proud to be working with Apex Entertainment for another year. It was great working with them last year and we’re looking forward to working with them again to raise money for Tilly’s Touch.” ,” said auction co-chair Jacob Geisinger.
The 19th Annual Charity Sports Auction will be held in the backcourt of the JMA Wireless Dome as the Syracuse Orange take on LSU in front of tens of thousands of passionate fans and the Syracuse community.
