Tacoma, WA – “Shinka – Immersive Japanese Car Exhibition” opens March 16th at LeMay – America’s Car Museum.
The word “kyogen” means “evolution” or “progress” in Japanese. The name of the exhibition itself reflects the theme and direction that ACM has taken with this new exhibit, highlighting the history, progress, and profound impact that Japanese automakers have had on the automotive industry and the rest of the world throughout history. and ultimately shaped the global automotive industry into what it is today.

Shinka is the largest undertaking in ACM’s 12-year history. The exhibit spans the entire top floor of the museum’s famous Showcase Gallery and features approximately 50 vehicles, ranging from original Japanese cars such as the legendary Toyota 2000GT to iconic cars of the era.
There’s even a combination of ’90s like the Nissan Skyline GT-R and modern performance like the new Acura NSX.
Although the focus is on the vehicles, there are many other immersive and artistic components on display throughout the exhibit that complement the vehicles while also drawing on modern anime, historical samurai, and the peaceful Japanese countryside.
