College Football Bowl season is full of players opting out and entering the transfer portal, but even quarterbacks have a chance to see future NFL signal callers outside of the College Football Playoff. Clayton Thune, who started one game for the Arizona Cardinals this season, threw for 229 yards and three touchdowns in a 23-16 victory over Louisiana in the Radiance Technologies Independence Bowl on Dec. He was selected in the fifth round. 2023 NFL Draft.
One quarterback to watch this year is Tulane’s Michael Pratt, an interesting prospect who is eligible for the 2024 NFL Draft. Tulane is a 7.5-point underdog against Virginia Tech in the Military Bowl on Dec. 27, according to the latest college football odds from SportsLine consensus. If Pratt plays, this could be an example of a quarterback moving up in the draft. Since it’s a bowl game, should you consider playing Tulane in your college football bowl bet? Top college football predictions for bowl season
One of college football’s top players Marshall is recommending for bowl season: He will be joining South Florida ( +3). Marshall also likes Over (61).
USF’s most impressive performance this season may have been on September 16th, when the Bulls defeated Alabama 17-3, limiting them to just 17 points. This was Alabama’s lowest point total this season as South Florida proved its ability to contain the best programs. Country. South Florida is at its best when in doubt, boasting a 5-2 record as underdogs compared to 1-4 ATS as favorites. The Bulls have won all three games this season in which they trailed by 3.5 points or less.
Syracuse allowed 31 points in back-to-back games, and South Florida quarterback Byram Brown was coming off one of his best games of the year. The dual-threat freshman threw for 253 yards and four touchdowns, adding a rushing touchdown in a 48-14 win over Charlotte in the final game of the season, clinching a bowl berth.
Syracuse allowed Georgia Tech two-way quarterback Haynes King to complete 80 percent of his passes for 138 yards and two touchdowns. He also rushed for 82 yards and had a touchdown on 7.5 yards per carry in a 31-22 win over Syracuse later that year, which could have earned the Orange a bowl berth. Coach Marshall expects Syracuse to struggle to contain Brown, but South Florida has allowed 36.3 points per game over the past four games, and the over has hit in seven of South Florida’s past nine games. I also like that the total score is 61 or higher because of this. Check out our other selections here.
