CMF partner nation leaders attended the annual meeting in person and virtually to discuss future partnership opportunities and initiatives in the world’s largest naval partnership.
The meeting was an opportunity to reflect on the achievements of the past year and coordinate plans to strengthen regional maritime security and partnerships in the future.
“CMF takes great pride in being the world’s largest maritime coalition,” said Lt. Gen. Brad Cooper, CMF commander. “It’s important to have these conversations about where we are now, where we’re headed, and where the future opportunities are to grow our organization.”
The CMF includes five joint task forces focused on defeating terrorism, preventing piracy, fostering regional cooperation, and promoting a safe maritime environment.
“As a non-state-facing organization, the CMF remains committed to maintaining international rules-based order and supporting the free flow of lawful commerce across the region,” said CMF Deputy Commander, Royal Navy Brigadier General. Philip Dennis said. “Our military remains vigilant and prepared to respond to non-state threats.”
The Joint Maritime Force is a multinational naval partnership that exists to promote security, stability, and prosperity across approximately 3.2 million square miles of the high seas, including some of the world’s most important shipping lanes.
