Export Bahrain, the national export promotion agency, and Alibaba.com, the business-to-business (B2B) e-commerce platform, have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to promote Bahrain’s global trade and economic growth.
The agreement, signed during the 6th China International Import Exhibition in Shanghai, will see Export Bahrain and Alibaba.com leverage their respective strengths and expertise to facilitate trade and reduce barriers. , which will enable Bahraini companies to enhance market access.
Alibaba.com offers special rates and discounts to Bahraini companies profiled by Export Bahrain, reducing cost barriers associated with company onboarding and encouraging Bahraini entrepreneurs to explore new markets .
Bahraini suppliers will also be provided with training and support on the effective use of Alibaba.com’s e-commerce platform.
The partnership will include educational programs, webinars, and workshops to strengthen the digital capabilities of Bahraini entrepreneurs, enabling them to effectively interact with Alibaba’s platform and leverage its capabilities. .
The memorandum came as a result of extensive discussions held on the sidelines of a high-level trade visit by Abdullah bin Adel Fakhro, Minister of Commerce.
Mr Fakhro, who is also Chairman of Export Bahrain, commented: “This MoU is a testament to our commitment to strengthening Bahrain’s global trade footprint.
