BECKLEY — After a career filled with victories and honors, both Wheeling Park Patriots are ending their high school careers with one more feather in their caps.
Park’s Tres McLeod and Luke Dunaway were named to the Class AAA all-state first team this week, with the two seniors recognized for their accomplishments on the field this season.
The Patriots operated like clockwork during both of their tenures, winning at least 15 games each year they were on the team and winning 17 games this season, before losing to Morgantown in overtime in the sectional final. .
George Washington won the Class AAA state title this year, its fifth since 2016, thanks to a very productive year from Michael Luchhauer.
Lehauer finished his senior season with 35 goals and 12 assists and was one of four forwards selected to the Class AAA All-State First Team for the first time this year in collaboration with the West Virginia High School Soccer Coaches Association and the West Virginia High School Soccer Coaches Association.
