BOSTON – Fred Toucher confirms that his 98.5 Sports Hub radio show “Toucher & Rich,” one of the most highly rated radio programs in Boston and the country, has ended. Now on air Friday.
Co-host Rich Schertenlieb has officially left the show. The two have worked together for years and brought their show to WBCN in Boston in 2006. Since Sports Hub debuted in 2009, they have appeared in the morning slot from 6 a.m. to 10 a.m.
in their relationship fractured a bone And that feeling was further amplified last month when Taucher signed a contract extension without Schertenlieb. According to the Boston Globe, the two had been negotiating contracts together for years.
Schertenlieb then announced Thursday that he would no longer operate the program’s social media accounts.
Toucher confirmed on air at the beginning of Friday’s show that their 17-year partnership had ended, saying Thursday would be Schertenlieb’s last show.
“Rich is not coming back,” Torcher said, adding that he is “very excited” about the future of the show, which also includes WBZ-TV’s Dan Roche.
“The new show is scheduled to start in the new year,” Toucher said. “What does Rich’s future hold? I don’t know.”
