The Bahrain Information and e-Government Authority (iGA) met with executives from the Saudi Digital Government Authority to discuss potential cooperation during the seventh meeting of the GCC e-Government Ministerial Committee held in Oman recently.
iGA CEO Mohamed Ali Al-Qaid met with Saudi Arabia’s Digital Government Authority Engineer and Governor Ahmed bin Mohamed Al-Suwayan on the sidelines of the conference.
Al-Qaed highlighted Saudi Arabia’s efforts in advancing information and communications technology (ICT) and praised the strong ties between the two countries.
He also acknowledged the role of the Department of Digital Government in implementing strategies and advanced technologies for the digital transformation of government services, and wished Saudi Arabia continued success.
Mr. Al-Qaid also shared details about Bahrain e-government initiatives, national projects and digital transformation, and emphasized the importance of strengthening technical cooperation.
The Governor praised iGA’s digital transformation efforts and digital policy implementation in Bahrain government departments.
He then extended an invitation to al-Qaed to attend a high-level discussion at the Digital Government Forum, which will be held in Riyadh next month from December 19 to 20.
The forum will serve as a platform for Bahrain to showcase its pioneering experience in digital transformation and meet with national and international digital government experts and decision makers..
