SHERBURN — There will be a Lunch and Learn program today at 11 a.m. at First Lutheran Church in Trimont, followed by a luncheon. These Crest-sponsored programs are free and available to anyone in Martin County. We would appreciate a free donation for lunch.

Tonight there will be a burger night at the Sherburne Region from 5pm to 8pm. Get a burger, salad, and beans with all the fixings for just $10. Feather Party (Bingo for Turkeys) at the Legion will be held on Friday, November 17th from 7pm. In addition to over 30 turkeys, Bingo will receive door prizes and steak his dinner prizes. Sounds like fun.

The Sherburne Theater will be the venue for the MCW Drama Department’s school play The Little Mermaid on Friday and Saturday, November 17th and 18th at 7pm and Sunday at 2pm (note Sunday time changes). please). Tickets are $7 for adults and $5 for students and can be purchased at the door. There will also be a bake sale in the lobby.
Concessions are available. Please support your local theater department and students. The movie from November 24th to 26th is “The Wish.”

November 13-17 is American Education Week. We would like to thank the MCW staff and support employees for their hard work.

St. John’s Holiday Greens are scheduled for delivery on Monday, November 20th. And that evening, a Ruby’s Pantry food distribution will be held from 5:30 to 7 p.m. in the parking lot of the Community Worship Center just south of I-90 in Sherburne.

The Mayo Mobile Clinic will be held in Sherburne on November 20th and will continue on November 22nd. Business hours are 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on both days. Call the reservation number and mention Sherburne Mobile Clinic at (507) 238-8500. The van was parked near Sherburne Town Hall at the time.

MCW students work on the personality traits of Purposeful People and Gratitude (being grateful for the people and things in life). MCW’s Community Education and Recreation (CER) has many opportunities in the future. Check out our art project classes, sewing machine classes, pajama pants classes, and wrestling opportunities for pre-kindergarten through her 6th grade, to name a few. The information in the school newsletter and web page (www.martin.k12.mn.us) is very helpful. School will be closed on November 23rd and 24th for Thanksgiving, and school will also be closed on Monday the 27th for a teacher workshop. FFA fruits are scheduled to arrive on the 27th.
MCW athletes are planning several winter sports competitions. There will be a hockey game in Luverne on Nov. 21 at 5:30 p.m.
Women’s basketball is scheduled to be played after Thanksgiving in Worthington on Nov. 25 and in Winthrop on Nov. 27. Good luck Mavericks.

Believe in the magic as the Civic Commercial Club decorates the halls.
Christmas trees, tree decorating contests and vendor sales will be held December 1st and 2nd. Don’t forget to sign up for your decorating team at Bank Midwest of Sherburne Nursery by November 29th. There will be free movies and Santa will take photos. Dinner on December 1st will be provided by the MCW Drama Department and breakfast on December 2nd will be provided by the Lions Club.
