Broadway players will star in a new installment of FX’s anthology series.
Tony Award nominee Tony Yazbeck and Tony Award winner Lindsay Mendes head to the small screen for roles in Ryan Murphy’s anthology series american sports story In FX.
This is the first sports-themed story in Murphy’s “American Story” series, which centers on NFL star Aaron Hernandez. Josh Andres Rivera leads the cast as Hernandez, a New England Patriots player who commits suicide in prison after being convicted of murder. According to Deadline, Yazbeck will rehire Urban Meyer, the head coach at the University of Florida, where Hernandez played before turning pro. Mendes will appear as a series regular in the role of Hernandez’s cousin Tanya Singleton.
