LORETTO — St. Francis University men’s basketball head coach Rob Krimmel announced that Jeremy Krayvill has signed his national letter of intent. Kraybill plans to enroll at St. Francis in the fall of 2024.
Krayville is a senior at St. Joseph Metuchen, New Jersey.
Kraybill, a 6-foot-0 guard, was named first-team all-conference in his first three seasons in high school and was named honorable mention All-State as a junior. Last season, he averaged 18.0 points and 4.0 rebounds per game, helping St. Joseph Metuchen reach the state championship.
The deal with Krayville gives St. Francis 13 scholarships for the 2024-25 season, with 12 players on the current roster expected to return next season.Mountains get first win of the season
CRESSON — The Mount Aloysius boys basketball team picked up its first win of the season with an 86-72 win over Houghton on Friday night.
Will Hagwood scored 25 points and Trent Ramirez-Keller added 13 points for the Mounties (1-3). Reggie Prior had 12 points for the Mounties, which led 36-31 at halftime.
For the Mounties, Devon Huggans had 10 points and 16 rebounds, and Prior had 12 points.
Horton (1-3) was led by David Rosa and James Wang with 14 points each.
The Mount is at Penn College on Tuesday.
Hurricanes win in Bahamas
NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Matthew Cleveland scored 18 points, Nigel Pack added 16 and No. 12 Miami defeated Georgia 79-68 on Friday in the Bahamas Bahamas Championship opener.
Uga Poplar had 13 points and 11 rebounds for the Hurricanes. Bensley Joseph also had 13 points for Miami, and Norchad Omie also had 11 points after overcoming foul trouble.
Blue Cain had 18 points for Georgia, while Noah Thomasson had 14 points and Jabri Abdul-Rahim had 13 points for the Bulldogs. Georgia State has gone 5-22 over the past five years against opponents ranked in the AP Top 25.
Freshman inspires Wildcats
LEXINGTON, Ky. — Freshman Reid Shepherd scored 25 points to lead No. 16 Kentucky to a 101-67 victory over Stonehill on Friday night.
Shepard added seven assists and three steals, joining four players in double-digit scoring. Kentucky made 17 3-point shots, including 10 in the first half.
For Kentucky, fellow freshman Rob Dillingham scored 20 points, and Antonio Reeves and Tre Mitchell each added 15 points. Max Zegarowski and Tony Felder led Stonehill with 15 points each.
Spartans sail past Butler
EAST LANSING, Mich. — Tyson Walker scored 21 points, including 16 in the first half, and AJ Hoggard added 14 points to lead 18th-ranked Michigan State to a 74-54 victory over Butler in the Gavit Tipov Games. Ta.
Malik Hall scored 12 points for the Spartans, who improved to 4-0 at Gavitt Games and won four of their past five games against the Bulldogs.
Duke has no problems with Bucknell
DURHAM, N.C. — Mark Mitchell scored a career-high 20 points and No. 9 Duke defeated Bucknell 90-60. Mitchell, a sophomore forward, made 8 of 13 field goals.
He was one of five Blue Devils to make at least one 3-point shot. Jared McCain made five threes and scored 17 points. For Duke, Tyrese Proctor scored 13 points and Kyle Filipowski added 10 points.
