Rebel At Dawn won the Bahrain Turf Club Cup yesterday as part of an eight-race program in support of the 2023 Bahrain International Trophy at the Rashid Equestrian and Horse Racing Club in Sakhir.
The five-year-old gelding won the five-furlong race, earning $30,000 for owner Al Adiyat Racing and trainer AM Smith, with Gerard Mosse in the saddle.
Aqeel Hassan Abdulrahim’s Ava Go Joe and Al Ahhoo Racing’s Ocean Star finished second and third respectively.
Byline won the Chopard Bahrain Jewelery Center Cup, which spans eight furlongs and carries $30,000 in prize money.
The 6-year-old gelding was won by Adiyat Smith and Mosse, with Kovex Kid second for Al Mohammediyah Racing and Mohamed Khalid Abdulrahim third for Ecosystem. Rayonpool won the Bapco Energies Horse Racing Cup over 12 furlongs and earned $30,000 in prize money.
The seven-year-old gelding took first place ahead of Adiyat and Smith and was ridden by Richard Kingscote. American Flag was also second to Adiyat, and Tawaalek was third to Victorious. The Bahrain Economic Development Board Cup was lifted by Amaan.
The 6-year-old gelding won the six-furlong straight ahead of Mohamed Jassim Jaafar, Talal Al Alawi and Cristian DeMuro, taking home the bulk of the $30,000 prize pool. Al Ahhoo Racing was followed by Annan, while Al Mohamediyah Racing’s Thin Blue Line finished third.
Yesterday, Living Art lifted the Bjorn Cup from Abdullah Sami Nas, Fawzi Nas and Adrie de Vries. Kazama won the Four Seasons Hotel Bahrain Bay Cup with His Highness Sheikh Hamad bin Abdullah bin Isa Al Khalifa, Haider Ebrahim and Abdullah Faisal. And Muthannan 1811 won the World Arabian Horse Organization Cup with Al Wasmiyah, Abdul Rakhwet and Abdul Rahim his Jasim.
