The college with the best performance in all sports during the MIAC academic year will be awarded a traveling all-sport trophy. The MIAC All-Sport Trophy began in the 1963-1964 school year, when Bob Chabert, then covering the MIAC for the St. Paul Pioneer Press, began determining the boys’ all-sport results. The current men’s trophy, George Durenberger’s Trophy, was donated by St. John’s College from the 1972-73 academic year. The women’s trophy, the Pat Wisner Trophy, was donated by Macalester College beginning in the 1983-84 school year, the year after women’s athletic competition began in the MIAC. Starting with the 2003-2004 season, the All Sports Trophy determination has changed slightly. First place points are determined by the number of teams participating in the sport. Points will be awarded based on the total points for 1st place, 2nd place, 3rd place, etc. Prior to this change, the determination of All Sports Trophy winners was calculated as follows: Boys – 1st place gets 11 points, 2nd place gets 10 points, 3rd place gets 9 points, etc. Women – 1st place will be awarded 12 points and 2nd place will be awarded 11 points. 2nd place etc. Conference Champion Points are as follows: bold.
