Final day
I put it in all caps because the excitement is really obvious. Why not warm up with some great pieces for a great final. Sambit Bal talks about the inevitable and somehow still unpredictable finals where two trains are on a collision course. Or you could read Osman Samiuddin looking for a German to explain how Australia is faring in the sport, or Sidharth Monga on Rahul Dravid’s arc of redemption.
What’s planned for today?
Final. India will face Australia in the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup final at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. Both teams have impressive unbeaten records, but it is India who will start as the heavy favorites to win the trophy. They dominated the tournament, winning every match and their key players performed at their best. However, Rohit Sharma and others will know that beating Australia in the final is no mean feat. No team has won more World Cups in this format than Australia and they will aim to continue their winning streak on Sunday.
In addition to cricket, you can expect more updates on Indian soccer, including the men’s team playing against Qatar in the FIFA World Cup second round qualifiers on November 21st.
