KUWAIT CITY, November 19: Basketball Federation President Dali Burgess enthusiastically welcomed the victorious Kuwait Women’s 3×3 Team at the Kuwait Airport. At the Bahrain International Triathlon Championships, which concluded in the capital Manama, the team won a brilliant 3rd place and a bronze medal.
The Federation President expressed his pride and announced that the Board of Directors will be awarding the honor to the women’s 3×3 team with its achievements. In particular, the Kuwaiti team has made impressive progress in the 3×3 trios game, with the men’s team recently winning silver and bronze medals at the Gulf Men’s Championship held in Qatar two weeks ago. According to Burgess, these achievements demonstrate the Kuwaiti team’s improved capabilities in the sport.
Mr Burgess highlighted the Federation’s commitment to promoting the 3×3 game and unveiled the adoption of a comprehensive committee program. This program aims to improve the sport through an increase in the number of national and international tournaments, thereby improving Kuwait’s position in the 3×3 arena. Mr Burgess appealed to the Sports Authority for increased financial support, which is essential to the successful implementation of this ambitious programme.
Burgess said that the “Al Azraq” team is preparing for the Arab Men’s National Team Championship scheduled for December in Cairo, Egypt, expecting active participation. The championship will involve prominent Arab teams, and Burgess emphasized that the national team committee has meticulously prepared the training program of “Al Azraq” in preparation for the challenges of the tournament.
