men’s basketball
-Cleveland State returns home this week to face ETSU on Wednesday, Nov. 22 and Alabama A&M on Saturday, Nov. 25.
-Both games this week will be held at Woodring Gymnasium as part of “Vikings Basketball Back in Woodring.”
-In their last matchup, the Vikings went 1-1 on the week, including a 71-61 win over Canisius.
women’s basketball
-The Vikings play three games this week at the Holiday Inn Express Downtown Viking Invitational against Austin Peay (Wednesday, Nov. 22), Chicago State (Friday, Nov. 24) and UMKC (Saturday, Nov. 25) Leave it at home.
-All three games this week will be held at Woodring Gymnasium as part of “Vikings Basketball Back in Woodring.”
-Last time out, the Vikings defeated Central Michigan 96-57 in their home opener, improving to 2-1 on the young season.

-The Vikings will take a break until after the new year and will return to action at the DiCicco Duals on January 27th.
-Last time, Cleveland State participated in the OSU Elite Invitational Tournament.

-Cleveland State will have a week off before beginning MAC action when they travel to George Mason on Saturday, Dec. 2.
-In the last Navy Classic, the Vikings finished in 6th place with four players competing as a team.
-no. No. 22 Daniel Backnavich took second place at 285 pounds, No. 21 Dylan Layton took third place at 141 pounds, No. 23 Ben Smith took fourth place at 197 pounds, and Tate Geyser took sixth place at 165 pounds. .
swimming and diving
-The Vikings will take a break from play until after the new year after finishing the first half of the season with the annual Magnus Cup event.
-Cleveland State University’s men took first place in the Magnus Cup, while the women finished in eighth place.
– On the men’s side, the Vikings set six Magnus Cup records, with Tyler Schultz setting a program-best time in the 200 breaststroke and Xander Austin recording an NCAA zone cut in the 1-meter dive.

He recorded consecutive double-digit scoring performances, achieving his first double-double of the year with 19 points and 10 rebounds in the win over Canisius.
Sara Guerreiro, Women’s Basketball
He helped CSU defeat Central Michigan 96-57, coming just short of a double-double with nine points and a career-high 12 rebounds.
Tyler Schulze, Men’s Swimming & Diving
She set the fastest time in program history in the 200-meter breaststroke at the Magnus Cup, winning with a time of 1:57.21.
emma walker, volleyball
Was named to the #HLVB All-Tournament Team after averaging 3.71 digs per set through tournament play and leading the Vikings to the semifinals of the 2023 Horizon League Tournament.
