Soquel High School defeated Monterey High School 22-0 to advance to the Central Coast Section football finals for the first time since 1987. This is the second time these schools have met this season, and the Knights played well on both sides of the football.
Defensively, Soquel (10-2) allowed just 74 yards and forced two turnovers with an interception by the senior. Soquel, the No. 2 seed in Division II, will play No. 8 Christopher High School of Gilroy (11-1) in the Division II final Saturday at 7 p.m. at San Jose City College. This will be the first time Soquel and Christopher will compete on the field.

Soquel High School played Garces Memorial High School in the California Interscholastic Division III water polo playoffs on Tuesday, losing 12-10.Senior Malloy Wiens had four goals and senior Haze Pizzica There were three.

After reaching the Central Coast Section finals, Soquel High School advanced to the CIF NorCal Division I water polo playoffs, where they faced Lafayette’s Acalanes High School in the first round.Behind the senior’s 3 goals Summer Sterk, the Knights entered the fourth quarter with a 7-5 lead. Santa Cruz High School graduate autumn haze He won the O’Neill Coldwater Classic, which concluded Sunday at Steamer Lane. A year after reaching the semifinals, Hayes took home the win on Sunday, advancing through the quarterfinals, semifinals and final.
This week’s history
On November 23, 2018, Aptos High School defeated Parma High School 49-6 to advance to the Central Coast Section Finals. A week later, the Mariners defeated Sacred Heart Prep to advance to the California Championship game against McClymonds High School in Oakland. Although Aptos lost, it was the first and only time the Mariners made it this far in soccer.
