The Winifred Crawford Divert Boys & Girls Club in Jamestown is now much safer thanks to a donation from Wegmans.
Local stores donated complete emergency kits including bandages, compression pads, alcohol wipes and scissors. The kit includes a “Mini Resuscitation Annie” figure and automated external defibrillator for CPR training.
“We are gifting this complete emergency first aid kit to the Boys & Girls Club here at Jamestown,” said Daniel Stone, Wegmans manager and team leader. “The American Heart Association will provide all necessary training to our staff.”
The mission statement of the local Boys and Girls Club reads, “To help all young people, especially those who need us most, reach their full potential as productive, caring, and responsible citizens.” “To be able to perform to the best of your ability.”
“Boys and Girls Clubs are such an important part of our community,” Stone said. “They do great work with our youth and local families. We are honored to support them.”
Various Boys and Girls Club officials expressed their gratitude for the donation.
Jordan Thomas, a club operations staff member, said, “We want to make effective use of this kit.” “We have a lot of sports leagues and other programs here. We strive to make sure we’re 100% safe in everything we do, but we know when we need a Band-Aid or a major emergency begins. I don’t know. It’s better to be safe than sorry.”
Staff from other Boys and Girls Clubs also expressed their gratitude.
“We are extremely grateful and grateful for this wonderful donation,” said Club Program Director Robin Lawson. “There are many programs where this safety kit will be of great benefit, including day camps and summer camps, sports leagues, and swim lessons. Additionally, the American Heart Association plans to provide all the training we need. Awe!” I’m holding you.”
