The Bahrain Ministry of Works and the Saudi Fund for Development (SFD) have reportedly awarded the main construction contract for the roads and structures of the Busayteen Link (Package 4), including the Signature Bridge in Manama, Bahrain, by the second quarter of 2024. “Bids will be invited on November 6, 2023, with bid submission date scheduled for February 4, 2024. Contracts are expected to be awarded by early May 2024,” said a source familiar with the project details. Sources told Zawya Projects.
Bahrain, represented by the Bahrain Ministry of Industry, intends to enhance its existing road network by developing new road corridors to support the Kingdom’s rapidly expanding economy. The scope of works includes the construction of the Busaiteen Link (Junction 4 to Junction 5), the Signature Bridge and associated approach ramp, and the ring road bridge connecting the new Busaiteen Link to the existing North Manama Causeway Phase 1. Bids are being solicited from experienced contractors. Used in steel bridges and cable-stayed bridges.
The project is expected to be completed by the fourth quarter of 2027, officials said, adding that the estimated project cost is $150 million.
