BOSTON — This…this is weird.
The Patriots and Giants, who have faced off in two Super Bowls and numerous high-stakes regular season games over the past 16 years, are 5-15 and will meet this Sunday. Barring an unexpected draw, one of these teams will emerge victorious.
From the outside looking in, it’s easy to see that as a game the Patriots potentially want to lose. Acquire the top 2 picks in the draft. The same goes for the Giants. But we know that both teams’ players in uniform and coaches on the sidelines will be on the field doing everything they can to win.
With this in mind, here’s how the WBZ Sports team expects Sunday’s game to play out.

Normally, this would be a good spot for the Patriots. The Patriots are coming back from a bye week and need to be rested and ready. But, you know, nothing was normal this season.
The Giants feature an effective pass rush, led by Kayvon Thibodeau, who had 10.5 sacks. That could cause problems for this offensive line.

Well…I think the Patriots will win by default.
I don’t like quarterback mystery. To be honest, I don’t really love it. And this is by no means an easy choice. But the Patriots can and actually have We won some games this year. Bill Belichick can’t confuse inexperienced quarterbacks like he used to, but I love New England’s chance to confuse Tommy DeVito.
It’s supposed to be a weird and goofy game. But I think the Patriots have those weeks.

The Patriots are better off losing this game, so they’ll find a way to win somehow.
