MANCHESTER – It was a lot of fun to reveal the Manchester City vs. Liverpool player ratings as the Premier League powerhouses treated themselves to a post-Thanksgiving treat at the Etihad Stadium on Saturday.

Josep Guardiola’s side took the lead through Erling Haaland’s goal, but Jurgen Klopp’s side held on and grabbed a point with Trent Alexander-Arnold’s superb goal in the 80th minute.

Manchester City player ratings
ederson: 7 – Made good stops in each half and was as solid as ever. There was nothing we could do in Liverpool’s goal.
Kyle Walker: 7 – Did a really good job against Jota and did his best to be an attacking option.
Ruben Diaz: 7 – Solid as always, great tackle and block at the end.
Nathan Ake: 8 – Maisie’s run set up Haaland’s goal and dealt with Salah’s threat incredibly well.
Rodri: 7 – Dominant in midfield as usual, providing a great base for City to launch their attack.
Manuel Akanji: 7 – Closed the gaps in defense well and was very calm on the ball.
phil foden: 6 – Alisson saved one shot well but was a bit frustrated as he didn’t get a chance to get behind Liverpool.
Bernardo Silva: 8 – A silky play that frequently cuts through Liverpool’s midfield with delicate passes and twists of the hips.
julian alvarez: 6 – Wasted some good chances on the counter and got flamed in a good position in the second half.
jeremy doc: 8 – Gave Trent Alexander-Arnold a kitten and turned him over for the entire match. He sent in so many crosses that his teammates couldn’t quite finish them off.
erling haaland: 7 – Scored a goal and worked hard to contain Liverpool’s defenders. He didn’t get involved too much, but he did his job and almost scored the winning goal late on.

Alison: 5 – Some sloppy mistakes with the ball early on, a big mistake of slipping, which led to Haaland’s goal. He was lucky not to concede a second after the soft foul was given to him.
Trent Alexander-Arnold: 6 – Overcame a lot of defensive work but couldn’t stop Doc from driving inside and knocking in crosses. However, the equalizer was achieved with a beautiful finish.
Joel Matip: 6 – Did his best to clear the cross and cover Haaland’s run.
virgil van dijk: 6 – Clipped some good balls forward but could have been better to cover and cross Haaland’s goal.
Kostas Tsimikas: 6 – Defensively they contained Foden, but there was little threat going forward. solid.
Dominik Szoboszlai: 6 – Had some nice touches, but couldn’t really impact the game. Subtitles off.
alexis mac allister: 5 – Overrunning in midfield and playing in a deeper role doesn’t work for him.
curtis jones: 5 – Didn’t keep the ball well enough and after some nice touches in the first half he disappeared. He came on as a substitute early in the second half.
mohamed salah: 8 – Some great through balls and crosses into the box. He is always looking to stretch out City’s defence, darting out wide and then into the middle. A class that also prepares Alexander Arnold for his goals.
darwin nunes: 6 – Created chances from tight angles in both halves but couldn’t convert. he worked hard.
Diogo Jota:5 – Couldn’t get past Walker in the first half and was substituted in the second half with an injury.
