Currumbin is in the spotlight this week after two seaside properties went on the market for a total of $17 million.
A former prize home in Currumbin has sold for $9.2 million in the first of two blockbuster auctions, just four weeks ago.
Five bidders competed for the keys to the luxury property at 14B Darwala Avenue.
Ray White Queensland chief auctioneer Gavin Croft made an opening bid of $7 million before a Gold Coast buyer ultimately emerged victorious after a “frenetic” auction.
Mr Croft said: “There is a strong base of local buyers looking to secure this style of seaside property.”

This three-storey home is one of just 10 beachfront homes in the coveted southern Gold Coast suburb.
This follows the sale of an adjacent property (14A Darwala Avenue), which was also the October 2022 prize home, for $7.2 million in August.
A little further down the road, a property called “Landmark Address” has been put on the market for the first time in 40 years.
The beachfront pad at 696 Pacific Pde has been owned by the same family since 1980, who paid $113,000 for the 850sqm block.
It sold under the hammer to a Gold Coast buyer for $8.05 million.
There are nine bidders, with bids starting at $7 million.
The Melbourne-based vendor spent many holidays at this property while it was not rented out as a vacation rental.
The property includes a duplex with an expansive lawn with 16 meters of beach frontage.
Ray White Tugun principal John Parkes marketed both properties.
The highest sale price in Currumbin was $11.3 million for a luxury home at 16 Darwala Avenue in 2021.
It wasn’t on the market, but the owner was contacted and it was sold.
