The Shura Council discussed the report of the Utilities and Environment Committee on the Strategic Stockpile Bill submitted by Rapporteur Juma Al Kaabi.
This took place when the Council convened for the 8th session of the Second Parliament, chaired by His Excellency Ali bin Saleh Al Saleh. Committee members Jihad Al Fadel, Mohammed Ali Hassan Ali and Ali Al Aradi, as well as Jamal Fakhro and Bassam Al Bin Mohammed, contributed to drafting the regulations.
After examining the need to ensure security of supply, fair pricing and protection of the national economy through strategic planning and reserve management, members of the Shura Council approved the referral of the proposal to the Cabinet.
Members were first briefed by Secretary-General Karima Al Abbasi on the conclusions of the Council of Representatives regarding the Bills added to the Civil Service Law and the Housing Law. The investigation into the Minister of Social Development by Sabika Al Fadallah also drew attention.
Meanwhile, the Council approved the return of the Service Commission’s report on the Vocational Training Act reforms for further consideration. Finally, Members received an update from the Bahraini parliamentary delegation to COP27 and the Arab Inter-Parliamentary Union Conference held in Egypt.
