In a landmark move towards enhancing efficiency and service delivery, Bahrain has announced a new national appointment system for public bodies.
The announcement was made during a recent meeting of the Committee of Ministers of Information Technology and Communications, presided over by His Excellency General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, Minister of Interior and Chairman of the Committee.
This esteemed meeting also included key ministers and the CEO of the Department of Information and e-Government. General Sheikh Rashid opened the meeting by acknowledging His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa’s unwavering support and interest in efforts aimed at improving government performance and providing optimal services.
The Minister stressed that these advances are in line with the directives of His Highness Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister. After approving the minutes of the previous meeting and considering the issued decisions, the committee delved into a comprehensive discussion including the latest developments regarding government website upgrades.
As Chairman of the Committee, the Home Secretary emphasized the importance of bringing government websites up to international standards and best practices. The Committee highlighted the importance of providing technical assistance for procedural clarity and data security, and addressed updates to the national appointment system.
The two organizations unanimously agreed to begin the pilot phase of the system, a vital step towards reducing bureaucratic burden, streamlining procedures and ensuring efficient service delivery.

The Minister also unveiled the launch of an electronic death system and outlined plans for the imminent introduction of a national communications system. These efforts aim to modernize and simplify processes and contribute to a more streamlined, citizen-centric approach to government.
In his closing remarks, General Sheikh Rashid thanked the committee members for their steadfast commitment to communication and coordination. He emphasized joint efforts to improve government services and ultimately benefit all citizens and residents.
