Bahrain offers opportunities and investment facilities to support the transition to the Fourth Industrial Revolution, apply circular carbon economy concepts and achieve industrial integration to increase supply chain efficiency.
Dr. Khaled Fahad Al Alawi, Assistant Under-Secretary of Industrial Development at the Ministry of Industry and Trade, emphasized this point during the 7th International Innovative and Entrepreneurial Competition Conference held in Shenzhen, China.
Dr. Al Alawi highlighted targeted strategic industries, especially those that correspond to the characteristics of China’s advanced and sustainable manufacturing industry. smart industry, semiconductor and microelectronics industry, renewable energy industry, etc.

The conference focused on the theme of new and promising opportunities in the Middle East and was held from November 23rd to 25th.
The event was organized by the United Nations Industrial Development Organization Bahrain Office and the International Youth Foundation in collaboration with the Federation of Arab Chambers of Commerce and the Annual Investment Conference. Minister of Youth Affairs Lawan bint Najeeb Tawfiki was also present.
Dr. Al Alawi reviewed Bahrain’s efforts in promoting a diverse and sustainable industrial base and the efforts made to achieve the goals of the Industrial Sector Strategy (2022-2026). The strategy was launched as part of the economic recovery plan and aims to increase the industrial sector’s contribution to GDP, increase locally produced exports and provide more opportunities for the population.
