HOUGHTON — Ryland Mosley and Matthew Campbell of the Michigan Tech Huskies hockey team were named CCHA Players of the Week, announced Monday. Mosley is named his CCHA Forward of the Week and Campbell his CCHA Defenseman of the Week.
Mosley, a senior, scored two points in the Huskies’ 3-2 overtime win against Minnesota State on Friday. He scored on the power play, the game-winner in overtime, and also had the first goal for the Huskies. In the CCHA sweep, the alternate captain had nine shots on goal and three blocked shots. He also played a key role in going a perfect 3-on-3 in the penalty killing department over the weekend. Mosley tied for the team lead in goals this season with eight, and had nine points on Friday to cap a six-game point streak.
Campbell, a sophomore, recorded an assist each night in the CCHA series sweep at Mankato. He had his first assist on Mosley’s game-winning goal in overtime on Friday and set up Jack Works’ second goal for Tech on Saturday. Campbell was a plus-3 over the weekend with eight shots on target and two blocked shots. He also played a key role in going a perfect 3-on-3 in the penalty killing department over the weekend. Campbell appeared in nine games in his first season with the Huskies, recording one goal and three assists for four points.
Tech is 6-6-3 overall, 4-2-0 in the CCHA and will host Bowling Green this weekend. Pucks will be dropped at the John McInnes Student Ice Arena on Friday at 7:07pm and Saturday at 6:07pm.
