Bahrain’s Cabinet reiterated the government’s commitment to developing the agriculture, livestock and marine aquaculture sectors through programs and initiatives aimed at strengthening food security.
This follows the Cabinet’s consideration of a report submitted by the Minister of Local Government and Agriculture, which noted the systematic efforts by the Minister of Local Government and Agriculture and relevant government agencies that contributed to the success of the event. .
Yesterday, Deputy Prime Minister Sheikh Khalid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa chaired the weekly cabinet meeting held at Ghudaibiya Palace. The Cabinet praised the opening of the 6th Bahrain Animal Production Show (Malay 2023), which was held under the patronage of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa.
The Cabinet congratulated Her Royal Highness Princess Sabika bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa, wife of His Majesty the King and Chairperson of the Supreme Council for Women (SCW), on Bahrain Women’s Day. The report praised SWC’s efforts in empowering Bahraini women and highlighted the achievements of Bahraini women in various fields.
Congratulations
The Cabinet congratulated the President, government and people of the UAE on the occasion of the 52nd Unification Day. The report was published by His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, and with the support of His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Maktoum, Vice President and Deputy Prime Minister. He noted the continued development of the United Arab Emirates under the leadership of President Nahyan. His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of the Presidential Court of the UAE, wished both countries further growth and prosperity.
COP28
The Cabinet confirmed the importance of the 28th United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP28), which will be hosted by the UAE. He wished the UAE success in hosting this global event.
In this regard, the Cabinet approved the memorandum on COP28-related documents submitted by the Ministerial Committee on Legal and Legislative Affairs. The Cabinet also discussed and approved several important memorandums during the meeting.
The Cabinet discussed several memorandums during the meeting and approved the following:
1. Memorandum submitted by the Ministerial Committee for Financial Economy and Fiscal Balance on the update of performance indicators for the Industrial Sector Strategy 2022-2026. This strategy falls within the priority of developing promising sectors and strengthening them within the Kingdom’s economic recovery plan. Initiatives to achieve environmental security.
2. Memorandum submitted by the Ministerial Committee for Legal and Legislative Affairs on the draft Decree appointing the relevant Ministers and Ministries responsible for the implementation of the Decree Law on the Regulation of Fisheries, Development and Protection of Marine Wealth.
3. Memorandum submitted by the Ministerial Committee for Legal and Legislative Affairs on the Draft Decision on the Establishment of Functional Requirements and Management of Urban Heritage.
4. Memorandum submitted by the Ministry of Local Government and Agriculture regarding the draft reissue of the Decision on Classification in the Regulatory Requirements for Modern Buildings.
5. Memorandum submitted by the Ministerial Committee on Legal and Legislative Affairs on the Government’s response to the three proposals submitted by the House of Representatives.
The Cabinet considered a memorandum submitted by the Ministerial Committee on Financial Economy and Fiscal Balance regarding the economic outcomes of recent events hosted by Exhibition World Bahrain during November.
The Cabinet expressed its gratitude to all parties who cooperated in organizing these events. Furthermore, the Cabinet took note of the following ministerial reports:
1. Results of Saudi participation in the 11th session of the UAE-Bahrain Joint High Commission.
2. Results of Saudi participation in the first meeting of the Bahrain-Egypt Government Committee on Trade, Economic, Scientific and Technical Cooperation.
3. Results of Saudi participation in the 5th Islamic Labor Ministers Conference.
4. Saudi participation in the 2023 Dubai Air Show.
5. Results of Saudi Participation in the 25th Session of the Undersecretary Committee on Transport in the GCC.
6. Saudi participation in the 2023 World Radiocommunication Conference.
7. Saudi participation in the 17th Arab Water Council Secretariat Meeting, the 15th Arab Ministerial Water Council and the 5th Arab Water Conference.
8. Results of Saudi participation in the 2023 Shenzhen Global Innovation and Entrepreneurship Conference.
9. External participation of various ministers and visits of foreign delegations to the Kingdom of Bahrain in December 2023.
