Findlay, Ohio. — Lock Haven football standout running back Chris Collier has been named to the Division II Conference Commissioners Association (D2CCA) Super Region 1 All-Region Second Team, the organization announced Thursday morning.
Collier becomes the first Bald Eagle to be on the All-Region team since Chantz Swartz was named to the Dan Hansen Football Gazette All-Super One Team in 2019.
This honor follows Collier’s historic nomination for the 2023 Harlon Hill Trophy, NCAA DII football’s highest honor, announced last week.
Collier, the PSAC East Offensive Player of the Year, led the Bald Eagles to their first five-win season since 1982.
Collier, who was also named to the PSAC First Team, ranked second in the PSAC in total rushing yards (1,393), rushing yards per game (126.6) and rushing touchdowns (12). He became Lock Haven’s first 1,000-yard rusher since 1981.
In the final game of the season, Collier rushed for 160 yards, pushing his season total to 1,393 and becoming Lock Haven’s single-season rushing leader. Collier broke Lock Haven Hall of Famer Joe Spieth’s record of 1,321 yards, which was set in 1979 when the Bald Eagles won the PSAC title.
Collier ranked fifth in all of Division II (first in the region) in rushing yards, second in the super region in yards per game and seventh in Division II. Collier rushed for more than 100 yards five times and had more than 200 yards twice. The workhorse back has 1,631 all-purpose yards, which ranks him fifth in the country.
