Cairo – December 1, 2023: Members of the Egyptian community in the Kingdom of Bahrain exercised their right to vote in the 2024 presidential elections, with a significant turnout. The day turned into a democratic celebration as large numbers of Egyptian expatriates living in Bahrain gathered at the Egyptian embassy in Manama from early Friday morning to take part in the election process.
Democratic enthusiasm spread beyond Bahrain, with Egyptians living in Saudi Arabia’s Eastern Province actively participating in the campaign. This notable participation is the result of a coordinated effort led by Ambassador Reham Khalil and the diplomatic and administrative staff of the Egyptian Embassy in Manama.
Voting for Egyptians abroad in the 2024 presidential election began on Friday and will continue for three days until Sunday, with the participation of 137 subcommittees located at the headquarters of diplomatic missions around the world. Egyptian expatriates can vote in person at their registered embassy or consulate, select their preferred candidate, and place their ballot in the designated box.
The National Elections Authority, under the leadership of Counselor Hazem Badawi, has issued guidelines on the voting process to ensure the accuracy and completeness of the electoral participation of Egyptians abroad in diplomatic missions and consulates. Voters will be asked to present proof of identity, either a valid national ID card or a passport with a national ID number.
