In five days, Bahrain Women’s Day on December 1st will be approaching.
This marks the transformation of contemporary Bahraini women into agents of progress and change alongside men, and every year since its inception in 2008, it celebrates the advancement of women in the nation through various careers. I’m here. This year’s theme is “Read, Learn, Participate.”
This marks a decisive transition of women as repositories of learning the sacred knowledge of the Holy Qur’an and subsequently as beneficiaries of Bahrain’s promotion of formal modern education for girls and women.
Finally, this reminds us all of their effective participation in nation-building.
The annual Bahrain Women’s Day is not just an occasion for us to rejoice in our past victories and present successes.
It is also a moment in the kingdom’s history to protect its future from self-righteous certainties that could hinder progress.
Times are changing rapidly around the world.
In the Middle East, we live in volatile times that challenge humanity.
At this point, collective wisdom says it is important to build strong and inclusive leadership models that include women in key positions to decisively shape the future.
Women are naturally willing to listen, put egos aside, and build bridges of understanding.
These qualities are so needed in today’s world.
Bahraini women have a proud history of leadership roles, education, and support for national leaders, and are prepared to participate in world affairs with a strong foundation of learning and biblical understanding.
