Bahrain will participate in the Blue Zone exhibition of the 28th Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP28), which will be held in the United Arab Emirates from November 30 to December 12. Addressing environmental issues and climate change.
The pavilion highlights Bahrain’s ‘Bahrain Blueprint’ national action plan announced by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, which aims to build a low carbon economy, climate change adaptation and a new green economy. The aim is to achieve carbon neutrality through sustainable opportunities.
The pavilion also showcases recent Saudi initiatives, including the National Energy Strategy, the $750 million Climate Technology Fund, and Safaa, a voluntary platform to offset carbon emissions.
This initiative is in line with the directives of His Highness Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, and the follow-up of His Majesty’s Personal Representative, His Highness Shaikh Abdullah bin Hamad Al Khalifa, to ensure environmental safety. Wael bin Nasser Al Mubarak, Minister of Municipal Affairs and Agriculture, emphasized Bahrain’s continued efforts to conserve and protect the environment.
Dr. Mohammed bin Mubarak bin Dina, Minister of Petroleum and Environment and Special Envoy for Climate Affairs, praised the organizing committee’s efforts in setting up the pavilion in Bahrain, which will help fight climate change and raise environmental awareness at various levels. He said that this shows Saudi Arabia’s efforts to do so.
