OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) – Gloria Allred will represent the family of the girl Oklahoma City Thunder guard Josh Guidy is accused of having an inappropriate relationship with, a prominent lawyer said Monday. Admitted.
Allred has spent decades representing women in lawsuits against powerful and famous people. She did not elaborate in her email response, which said she had “no comment.”
TMZ Sports first reported Allred’s connection to the incident.
Last week, the Newport Beach, California, Police Department announced that detectives were investigating. Before that, the NBA announced it was conducting an investigation.
In a since-deleted post, an anonymous social media user said last month that the girl seen with Guidi in videos and photos was a high school senior at the time. His social media accounts have since been deactivated.
Australian Giddy turned 21 in October. He and the Thunder have so far declined to comment on the situation.
Guidi is averaging 12 points, 5.7 rebounds and 4.2 assists per game for an Oklahoma City team that is off to a 13-6 start, second in the Western Conference. He has started all four games since being charged, but played a season-low 17 minutes in Saturday’s win over Dallas.
Guidi was selected No. 6 overall in the 2021 draft and was named to the All-Rookie Second Team for the 2021-22 season. He averaged 16.6 points, 7.9 rebounds and 6.2 assists last season. He averaged a team-high 19.4 points at this year’s World Cup for Australia, where he won three games and lost two.
