The Broadbeach Waters home has been completely reimagined with an extensive renovation that combines relaxed Mediterranean living with a touch of New York chic.
Once a typical 1970s brick beach house, 28 Naranga Avenue is owned by Laura Kass, who purchased the home in early 2021 for its central location and untapped potential. Masu.
Initially planning a modest refurbishment, they worked with their son Michael, who had recently returned to Australia, to achieve a more extensive refurbishment.
“My mom loved renovations and saw the potential,” Kass said.
“I share that love. When she was discussing her ideas, I asked if I could design for her.”

Drawing on his previous experience renovating Greenwich Village apartments, Kass set out to bring a New York feel to the home, a luxurious and contemporary take on his family’s Mediterranean heritage.
Double-height ceilings and a central cavity evoke the luxury of Big Apple living, while soft curves and a sun-drenched outdoor entertaining area encapsulate the feel of the Greek Islands.
This two-story home features a private rooftop terrace, as well as five bedrooms, five bathrooms, a swimming pool, and multiple living areas, making the most of every available view on every side. It is designed to be used for.
“The ground floor terrace offers views of the Surfers Paradise skyline and the hinterland to the west,” Mr Kass explained.
“And the upper level has a rooftop terrace with 360-degree views over a field of green trees.”
No expense was spared on the interior, with a white and wood color scheme accented by a custom staircase.
“We worked with amazing draftsmen and fabricators who allowed us to make changes, so we were able to refine the design and capture the best angles possible,” Kass said.
The result is a property suitable for families and professionals alike, but ultimately an entertainer’s paradise.
“We designed it to be either five bedrooms or three rooms with two studies, making it suitable for both small and large families,” says Kass. said.
“But really, it’s a great property for people who like entertainment.”
This house’s interesting reputation is earned by its amazing attention to detail. A rooftop terrace connects to his ground floor outdoor area with a wet bar.
The downstairs living and lounge areas all lead to an outdoor terrace overlooking the patio, pool and beautiful backyard.
“We wanted the entire backyard to be open and be able to run into the pool or sit by the pool and relax,” Kass said.
“Also, the indoor entertainment area opens to the outdoor area and outdoor kitchen via doors recessed into the wall, creating a seamless indoor-outdoor atmosphere.”
The property was completed just a few weeks ago, Mr Kass noted, offering buyers the opportunity to secure a new-build custom home just in time for Christmas.
Kollosche — John and Nicole Mayer of Broadbeach will auction the property on Dec. 10.
