Bahrain – In a series of key leadership engagements, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Transatlantic Division (USACE TAD) commander, U.S. Army Col. William C. Hannan, Jr., will strengthen the already strong inter-service collaboration. , visited Bahrain on September 11th. Partnership with U.S. Naval Forces Central Command (NAVCENT) and Naval Support Activity Bahrain (NSA Bahrain).
Mr. Hanan began his series of visits with talks with the Bahrain Regional Office of the Transatlantic Middle East (TAM). Discussions focused on current and future efforts aimed at strengthening the operational capabilities of both the Army and Navy in the region.
Mr. Hannan accompanied key officials from the Middle East region to tour ongoing projects, including NSA electrical upgrades and ship-to-shore public works projects. These efforts serve as the linchpin of cooperation between USACE TAD, NAVCENT, and NSA Bahrain.
“These projects are critical to enhancing both the strategic interests and security architecture of the region and are a testament to effective Army-Navy cooperation,” Hannan said.
In separate meetings with U.S. Navy Vice Admiral Brad Cooper, Commander of U.S. Naval Forces Central Command, and U.S. Navy Cpl.
NSA Bahrain Commander Zakaria D. Apelaush, Mr. Hanan, discussed the current status and future trajectory of projects aimed at supporting naval operations and regional stability.
These strategic engagements highlight the collaborative energy and shared focus of the U.S. Army and Navy in Bahrain.
VADM Cooper praised the Army Corps of Engineers and Bahrain Regional Office staff, saying, “Keep up the great work!”
“The strong alliance between the Army Corps of Engineers and U.S. Navy Central Command in Bahrain is the foundation for effective military cooperation across U.S. Central Command’s AOR,” Hannan said.
