The Parks Janeway Carriage House at the Santa Ynez Valley Historical Museum is heating up for a special antique car parade that will be rolling through the streets of Santa Ynez Valley on Monday, September 25th. The late George Barris.
The event is part of the Antique Automobile Club of America’s Western District Tour, which showcases antique vehicles from around the country.
Local antique car owners are also invited to join the Batmobile-led parade starting at 10 a.m. at the Marriott in Buellton. This tour takes you through the communities of Santa Ynez, Solvang and Buellton, including Solvang’s School, Atterdag’s Village and Golden. Inn and Village, according to event organizers.
The parade route will end at noon at the Santa Ynez Valley Historical Museum and Parks Janeway Carriage House, where there will be a free, family-friendly event. Visitors will have the opportunity to explore the Carriage House’s stagecoach, horse-drawn carriage, and the first horseless carriage, as well as the Batmobile and other eye-catching vehicles on display.
George Barris’ daughter, Joji Barris, will be on site to provide first-hand insight into the unique history of her father’s legacy in automotive design.
