If Tony Finau did little to dispel the LIV Golf rumors a few days ago, he made up for it Monday night.
Finau posted a photo on Instagram with a caption about Finau looking forward to playing his 10th season on the PGA Tour in 2024, punctuated with the hashtag #imnotleaving.
The full post is below:
“The 2023 season is set! It was a special and amazing season highlighted by my win at the Mexican Open. It was my 6th win on @pgatour. Another highlight is winning the tour for 7 consecutive years! As this year comes to a close, I am grateful for the opportunity to play the game I love and have the opportunity to compete at the highest level. I’m excited for 2024 and looking forward to playing my 10th season on the PGA Tour. And we’re excited to be defending both Mexico and Houston! We’d like to thank our partners for their continued support. Thank you to all the fans who have loved our entire Finau family. See you all on Maui! #I won’t leave. “
After Jon Rahm officially announced the deal last week, Finau had been the subject of speculation that he would be the next big name to jump into the Saudi-backed league. One report says Finau and Tyrell Hatton have joined Rahm’s team.
When asked about the rumors, Finau said: he barely reacted.
“I have nothing to say right now,” Finau told reporters at the Grant Thornton Invitational in Naples, Florida. “I haven’t heard anything.”
Furthermore, he added: Right now I’m not soaking anything except just playing. ”
Now, Finau has something to say: He’s committed to next season’s PGA Tour.
