The NFL announced Wednesday that Super Bowl XI will be held in Los Angeles in 2027. The game will be played at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California.
“We are extremely excited to bring the Super Bowl back to Los Angeles for the first time in five years,” NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell said in a statement. “The city did a great job hosting Super Bowl 56 at the amazing SoFi Stadium, and we believe Super Bowl 61 will be even more memorable.”
SoFi Stadium hosted Super Bowl LVI in 2022, where the LA Rams defeated the Cincinnati Bengals 23-20. Super Bowl XI will be his ninth to be held in Los Angeles County and will commemorate his 60th anniversary of the game. The first ever Super Bowl was held at the LA Memorial Coliseum in 1967.
“We are grateful to Commissioner Goodell and our other 31 team partners for this opportunity to relive the league’s biggest moments,” LA Rams owner and chairman E. Stanley Kroenke said in a statement. Stated.
Since opening in 2020, the indoor-outdoor SoFi Stadium has been home to LA’s two NFL teams, the Los Angeles Chargers and Los Angeles Rams.
As part of Super Bowl XI, the greater LA area will host a series of events as part of Super Bowl Week, including the Super Bowl Opener, the Super Bowl Experience, and NFL Honors.
The 2022 Super Bowl generated between $234 million and $478 million in revenue for Los Angeles County, according to an independent study cited by SoFi Stadium.
“The Los Angeles region continues to attract world-class events, and we look forward to hosting the Super Bowl again,” Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass said in a statement.
Tickets for the game are not yet available, but a priority access program for Super Bowl LXI ticket packages will begin Wednesday and include premium seating options, fine food and beverage offerings and entertainment.
The LXI Super Bowl comes about a year before another global sporting event takes place in Los Angeles. Los Angeles is the host city for his 2028 Olympics.
