Week 15 of the 2023 NFL season has already begun, with more matchups scheduled for the weekend. But not all teams are healthy as the playoffs approach finality, with several big names missing or scheduled to return from absence on Saturday and Sunday. Below is a complete summary of the official injury report.
Saturday’s game
Ty Chandler is expected to replace Mattison as the Vikings’ primary ball carrier, but Jefferson was announced as a top target for new starting quarterback Nick Mullens, who replaced Joshua Dobbs late in Week 14. is under way. Jefferson had previously missed seven games. Although he has a problem with his hamstring, he revealed he plans to suit up at a recent community event. Meanwhile, Cincinnati has No. 1 WR Ja’Marr Chase (ankle) available despite missing practice earlier in the week.
Pittsburgh will be without Pickett for the second straight game, and Mitchell Trubisky, who struggled mightily against the Patriots in Week 14, will be under center. If Seumalo is unavailable, Nate Herbig is ready to fill the inside O-line. Indy, on the other hand, will be keeping Taylor out and using Trey Sermon as insurance, with Zack Moss expected to return as RB1.
Detroit’s front line will be worth watching, with Decker and Ragnow both battered in the trenches. The latter injury had a noticeable impact on Jared Goff’s protection. The Lions’ top reserves include Kayode Awosika and Colby Solsdal.
sunday’s game
As for the Bears, although he missed practice earlier in the week with an ankle injury, Moore said he will be fine. Cleveland has been battling a number of injuries heading into this game, with starting tackle Jedrick Wills also on injured reserve after undergoing knee surgery. Pocic will be replaced by Nick Harris, with Ward looking to return from a three-game absence in the secondary. Martin Emerson Jr. and Cameron Mitchell are the Browns’ top corner reserves.
- Buccaneers: DT William Gholston (ankle, knee), CB Carlton Davis (groin) OUT. DT Vita Vea (toe), S Ryan Neal (back) Doubtful. WR Chris Godwin (knee), LB Devin White (foot), CB Jamel Dean (ankle, foot), LS Zach Triner (elbow) questionable
- Packers: WR Christian Watson (hamstring) Questionable. RB Aaron Jones (knee), RB AJ Dillon (thumb), WR Dontaevion Wicks (ankle), LB Quay Walker (shoulder), CB Jaire Alexander (shoulder), CB Eric Stokes (hamstring), S Darnell.・Savage (shoulder) doubt
It’s no exaggeration to say that Todd Bowles’ defense is currently taking a hit and is in danger of missing five of its regular starters. Godwin also plays an important role here. If he can’t go, Mike Evans could get more attention as Baker Mayfield’s top passing target, with David Moore likely filling in at wide. As for Green Bay, Jordan Love will once again rely on wideouts Jaden Reed and Romeo Dubs, with Watson poised to be sidelined once again, while Jones is expected to return as RB1 after a week of practice.
- Texans: DE Will Anderson Jr. (ankle), LB Blake Cashman (hamstring), CB Tavierre Thomas (hamstring) are out. QB CJ Stroud (concussion) Questionable. WR Nico Collins (calf), WR Noah Brown (knee), OT George Fant (hip), OG Shaq Mason (calf), LB Henry Tootoo (hamstring) questionable
- Titans: WR Kyle Phillips (hamstring), TE Josh Whyle (knee), DT Jeffrey Simmons (knee) OUT. WR Nick Westbrook Iquine (illness), DL Denico Autry (knee, illness), LB Jack Gibbens (back), S Kevon Wallace (quad) questionable
Stroud is still in concussion protocol, so Davis Mills is expected to start on the road against Houston. Mills started 26 games for the Texans in 2021-2022. But he’ll also be working with a hurting supporting cast that was already without standout rookie receiver Tank Dell. Robert Woods and Dalton Schultz could be the top passing outlets against Tennessee. The Titans’ biggest medical concern is in the trenches, with Mike Vrabel potentially without all three regular D-linemen after the release of Tia Tart.
- jet: QB Aaron Rodgers (Achilles), WR Jason Brownlee (ankle) OUT; OT Carter Warren (hip) questionable. RB Nick Bolden (knee), OT Max Mitchell (beck), C Joe Tippman (shoulder), DE Will McDonald IV (knee), DE John Franklin Myers (ankle) questionable.
- Dolphin: OG Robert Hunt (hamstring), S Deshon Elliott (concussion) OUT; RB Devon Ashen (toe), WR Tyreek Hill (ankle), OT Terron Armstead (ankle, knee), OT Austin Jackson ( (oblique), OL Liam Eichenberg (calf), OLB Andrew Van Ginkel (oblique), CB Zavian Howard (hip), S Jevon Holland (knee) questionable
Despite Rodgers returning to the practice field to end the week, A-Rod has yet to return. So, as expected, the Jets QB is Zach Wilson. Miami, on the other hand, is incredibly strong both up front and at the skill spots, with speedsters Ashane and Hill making decisions in games. I expect Raheem Mostert to lead the way at running back, and Jaylen Waddle is sure to get more targets even if Hill is unavailable.
- Chiefs: RB Isaiah Pacheco (shoulder), OT Donovan Smith (neck) OUT. WR Justin Ross (injured) Doubtful
- Patriots: RB LaMondre Stephenson (ankle) OUT; WR JuJu Smith-Schuster (ankle), WR DeVante Parker (knee), WR Tyquan Thornton (hamstring), OT Trent Brown (illness), DL Christian Barmore ( Shoulder), LB Jawaun Bentley (knee), ST Matthew Slater (groin) questionable
With the strong Pacheco out after undergoing surgery, Clyde Edwards-Helaire and Jerick McKinnon will lead Kansas City’s backfield. Wanya Morris will serve as Patrick Mahomes’ blindside blocker in Smith’s absence. Meanwhile, Ross is returning from suspension, but is unlikely to join the Chiefs’ unpredictable receiver corps. New England QB Bailey Zappe could rely heavily on RB Ezekiel Elliott while trying to play spoiler at home.
- Giant: OT Evan Neal (ankle) Questionable. TE Darren Waller (hamstring), OL Justin Pugh (calf), DL Dexter Lawrence (hamstring) questionable
- Saints: RB Kendre Miller (ankle), DE Peyton Turner (toe), DE Isaiah Foskey (quadriceps) OUT. RB Jamal Williams (groin), WR Chris Olave (ankle), OT Ryan Ramczyk (knee) questionable
With Neal expected to be sidelined again, Tire Phillips is expected to start at right tackle in front of rookie QB Tommy DeVito, but it’s unclear whether DeVito will have Waller as a safety valve. If Lawrence is out, the Giants will have Jordon Riley as their backup nose tackle. Olabe was named the Saints’ true game-time decision-maker after missing practice for three straight games. QB Derek Carr is also not listed as injured despite entering Week 14 with rib, shoulder and head injuries.
- Hayabusa: OT Caleb McGary (knee, illness), DE Kentavious Street (pectoral muscle) OUT. OT Jake Matthews (knee), OG Chris Lindstrom (ankle), C Drew Dalman (ankle), DE LaKare Rondon (knee), DT David Onyemata (ankle), LB Nate Landman (knee) questionable. can be
- Panthers: TE Hayden Hurst (concussion), TE Ian Thomas (ankle), OG Justin McCray (calf) are out. OLB Brian Barnes (ankle), OLB Yetur Gross-Matos (knee), LB Amare Bano (illness), S Xavier Woods (illness), S Sam Franklin Jr. (illness), S Jammy Robinson (finger). ), DB Deshawn Jamison (illness) questionable
Atlanta lost both Matthews and Lindstrom to lower-body injuries in Week 14, so they could be down to just one of their five starting offensive linemen. McGary has already been secured and Storm Norton is a potential replacement. But the Panthers don’t necessarily have enough personnel to take advantage, as both of their top pass rushers are inconsistent.
With Robinson sidelined, Antonio Gibson and Chris Rodriguez Jr. will headline Washington’s backfield in Los Angeles. Good news for managers: Rookie corner Emmanuel Forbes Jr. (elbow) will be active after being sidelined for two weeks. Even if Atwell is unable to go to the Rams, LA plans to have TE Tyler Higbee (neck) available, even though the veteran started this week as a limited participant.
- 49ers: RB Elijah Mitchell (knee), TE Ross Dewelly (ankle), DE Aric Armstead (foot, knee), DT Javon Hargrave (hamstring) OUT. OG Aaron Banks (hip), OG Spencer Burford (knee), LB Dre Greenlaw (ankle, hip), CB Charvarius Ward (groin) questionable
- Cardinals: LB Tyreek Smith (travel), CB Bobby Price (quadriceps) OUT. WR Marquise Brown (heel), WR Michael Wilson (neck), TE Jeff Swaim (back), OL Elijah Wilkinson (neck), LB Chris Barnes (ribs), P Blake Gillikin (back) Questionable
San Francisco’s backfield will be without its top backup in Christian McCaffrey, while the 49ers’ vaunted defensive front will be without two regulars, leaving Nick Bosa and Chase Young to fill the void. If Ward can’t go to the perimeter, Ambry Thomas and Isaiah Oliver will be the next corners.
- Kouiz: DT Jonathan Hankins (ankle, knee) OUT; WR Brandin Cooks (illness), WR Jalen Tolbert (illness), OT Matt Waretzko (shoulder), DE Viliami Fehoko (knee), CB Stephon Gilmore (illness) ), S Malik Hooker (ankle) doubtful
- invoice: DE AJ Epenesa (Rib), S Mika Hyde (Stinger) OUT. WR Justin Shorter (hamstring), CB Kyle Elam (ankle) questionable
Two of Dallas’ top veteran perimeter players, Cooks and Gilmore, are returning from illness. If the former doesn’t work, Michael Gallup will look to snap out more wide. Buffalo will be without a key starter in Hyde, who has been battling neck issues since last season. It’s another blow to a thriving secondary that already has Tre’Davious White on injured reserve.
- Ravens: OLB Malik Ham (ankle), S Kyle Hamilton (knee) questionable
- Jaguar: CB Tyson Campbell (quadriceps), S Andre Sisco (groin) OUT; WR Jamal Agnew (shoulder), TE Brenton Strange (foot), OT Walker Little (hamstring), OG Ezra Cleveland (knee), CB Tre Herndon (concussion), CB Christian Braswell (hamstring), LS Ross Matysik (back) questionable
Even though he was sent off in Week 14, Hamilton had a chance to adapt to Baltimore’s defense and received a full week of practice from star running back Roquan Smith. The Jags are showing all kinds of bang, and could be missing two different starting O-linemen, as well as two of their top three corners. The good news for them is that RB Travis Etienne Jr. (lib) is ready to go.
monday’s game
- Eagles: to be decided
- Seahawks: to be decided
Seattle QB Geno Smith, who missed Week 14 with a groin injury, was limited in Thursday’s practice and hopes to play, but has not yet committed to returning. Otherwise, Drew Lock will make his second straight start.
