Bahrain, December 18th: Karnataka Social Club held a Christmas function along with National Day celebrations on December 15 at its Manama premises.
The event began with children waving the Bahraini flag in synchronized movements while reciting the national anthem on Bahrain National Day.
This was followed by the singing of traditional carols by the children of members, a feature of the club since its inception.
Snacks and drinks were quickly distributed and we waited for Santa Claus to arrive.
Soon Santa Claus arrived in his usual cheerful mood and welcomed the excited children with a ho-ho-ho Merry Christmas message.
This year, Santa Claus also showed his talent in the field of dance, performing enthusiastically with a dance group to the chartbuster “Elsalema.”
Christmas presents were then distributed to all children under the age of 12.
What should not be ignored is that the adults, in their usual sporting manners, took part in a game called “uski topi uska zaar”, in which the women put hats on the men’s heads and held them in their hands. If the music stopped while I was still holding it, I had to face elimination. .
This was followed by a sumptuous buffet.
After lunch, the members showed off their talent by swinging a leg or two to Konkani Masala and performing steps from Tiger Dance to Baila, reminiscing fond memories of dancing in their hometown of Mangaluru.
The program ended with a thank you to DJ Francis, Roshan for the photo shoot, carol singing trainers, ladies wing, sponsors and all the volunteers who contributed to the success of the event.
