CJ Nikowski is the newest addition to the Atlanta broadcast booth.
Bally Sports announced Monday that it has hired CJ Nikowski as an analyst for Atlanta Braves telecasts on Bally Sports South and Bally Sports Southeast starting with the 2024 season. Nitkowski will work with second-year play-by-play announcer Brandon Godin.
Bally Sports has had a revolving door of analysts in the Braves booth for the past few seasons. Former outfielder Jeff Francoeur has been the main speaker, but he has taken a step back to spend more time with his family.
“It’s time for a new season that puts family first,” Francoeur said. “My wife and I are stepping down from our roles as lead analysts for the Braves because we have experienced the reality of how time flies and we want to see our children pursue their dreams. I am excited about what lies ahead. I’m grateful to Bally Sports for allowing me to play with a team I’ve always loved.”
Francouer and Hall of Famer Tom Glavine will play fewer games starting in 2024.
Nikowski has been a broadcast analyst for the Texas Rangers since 2017 and is a six-time Lone Star Emmy Award winner. He has experience on national television, from 2014 until 2019 he worked as an analyst on both FOX and FS1.
“My family and I are thrilled to have this incredible opportunity to come home and join the Atlanta Braves broadcast team at Bally Sports,” Nitkowski said. “Bally Sports Braves Baseball is one of the most respected television broadcasters in the entire industry. Bally Sports and the Braves have selected me to join their group and continue their tradition of excellence in television broadcasting. I’m honored.”
Nitkowski enjoyed a 10-year career as a player while pitching in 22 games with eight different teams, including the Braves in 2004.
