JOPLIN, Mo. — A local real estate group is making sure families with sick children have a place to stay.
The 2023 Gold Key Project raised $4,200 for Ronald McDonald House Charities in four states through Reese Nichols Real Estate. Gold Key agents throughout southern Missouri donated $100 for each home they helped buy or sell over a seven-month period from April to October.
That $100 will cover the cost of the family’s overnight stay at the Ronald McDonald House while the child is hospitalized.
“We as agents are so blessed. We get to work with so many different people. And for me, it’s about giving back. So when they call for volunteers, that’s what we’re prepared to do.” It’s a volunteer program that has done a lot of work,” said Alan Evans, co-manager of Reese-Nichols Real Estate’s Springfield office.
“We help families find homes and Ronald McDonald House provides homes for families whose children have been hospitalized. It’s a feel-good way,” said Nina Moser, Reese-Nichols Real Estate Neosho Office Managing Broker.
Hundreds of other Gold Key Reese Nichols agents also contributed to the effort, from as far away as Kansas City and Wichita. Gold’s total of 2023’s key projects will raise him more than $300,000 and give Donald his more than 2,900 free nights to families staying at his McDonald House.
