The holiday season has arrived. With Christmas just around the corner and New Year’s just around the corner, NFL teams are sure to want to do the right thing to make their season, or their team, as successful as possible.
With that in mind, we are offering them exactly that. In theory, of course. Here’s what each team should hope for over the next week or so.
NFC East
You’ve seen the Cowboys home road fork, right? And did you watch the last few games against the Niners? The Eagles must lose one of their remaining two games against New York to qualify for a home playoff game. And to avoid having to beat San Francisco in the playoffs, someone else will need to do it.
Jones signed a $160 million contract last offseason, and the Giants restructured his contract before it began. He quickly returned to the player he was before his surprising turnaround in 2022. New York needs to find a less painful way out of this deal.
Philadelphia has scored a combined 49 points in its last three games, losses to the 49ers, Cowboys and Seahawks. Jalen Hurts is into funk. The Eagles need to find a way out of this situation in the final weeks of the season before heading to the playoffs.
For Washington, I wish Josh Harris had been better than Daniel Snyder. That’s not too much of a question.
NFC north
Justin Fields is playing better. The Bears are also likely to get the No. 1 pick in the draft. Hold the field and trade the pick or trade the field and keep the pick?I hope whoever ultimately makes the decision makes the right decision for the Bears and their fans.?
Earlier this season, it looked like the Lions’ offseason spending on their secondary would lead to real defensive improvements, especially coupled with better play up front. But as the season progressed, that became less and less realistic. We want the Lions defense to be a worthy complement to a very fun offense.
I thought about including something about Jordan Love here, but considering the Packers have won back-to-back NFC Offensive Player of the Week awards for Tommy DeVito and Baker Mayfield, defensively It’s clear that it’s time for something to change. ball.
Given Cousins’ contract situation and his torn Achilles tendon, he probably won’t be in Minnesota for long. But Justin Jefferson is too good not to be attached to a really good quarterback. The Vikings have a variety of options available through the draft, free agency, and potential trades, and it would be great to acquire someone to pair with Jefferson, Jordan Addison, and TJ Hockenson long-term. .
NFC South
Sorry, Arthur Smith. But if the Falcons are going to draft a running back and tight end in the top 10 and don’t actually use them, they need someone to do it.
The David Tepper era has been a disaster for Carolina so far. Matt Rhule didn’t work out. Frank Reich’s case was even worse. The Panthers need a deep-pocketed owner to step back from the football world and start showing his ability to identify the right talent, and that needs to start this offseason.
Maybe the Saints don’t actually want a way out of salary cap hell. They’re going to continue to restructure and ultimately get lean and squeeze whatever is left of this era. But there’s nothing left. They’re old, slow, and not particularly competitive. Accept reality, rip off the bandaid and start over.
Evans is a future Hall of Famer, but he shouldn’t play snaps for another team. Jason Richt needs to work out a new contract with his star wideout before he hits free agency this offseason.
NFC West
After trading down to the Texans last year, the Cardinals will receive two first-round picks in 2024. They need these picks to lay the foundation for the Jonathan Gannon era, along with players like Trey McBride, Paris Johnson Jr., and B.J. Ojulari, and (possibly) Kyler Murray and Budda Baker.
You know how much fun it was for the Rams to play the Saints on Thursday night? For the sake of the Rams and their fans, we hope it continues. As long as they have McVay, Stafford, and an offensive line that isn’t a complete mess, the good times should continue to roll on that side of the ball. As for Donald, he remains one of the best players in the league, and arguably one of the best of all time, and we hope to see him continue to build on those for years to come. I am thinking.
The 49ers have lost three games this season. Their respective teams were without Williams, Samuel, or both. In every other match they crushed every character. If they were in the lineup, the Niners would be the favorites to win it all.
Seattle’s offense has been underperforming at times this year due to injuries to the offensive line, but all the pieces are in place for the unit to be successful. But even if Devon Witherspoon lives up to expectations, the pass defense will need a lot of work. The Seahawks need a better pass rush and better cover players, especially at the second and third levels.

The Bills are 8-6, along with the Jaguars, Bengals, Colts and Texans. However, they are currently out of the playoff spots due to various tiebreakers and are waiting to see if they can make it. For the final three weeks of the season, Buffalo needs a bit of a break to become the team no one wants to see come January.
In that exact scenario, the Dolphins would need the opposite to happen. They want to go into Week 18’s game against the Bills with all AFC East league games completed, so they could lose control of the division and possibly a playoff spot on the final day of the season. There’s no need to worry.
Regardless of whether Bill Belichick picks them or not, the Pats desperately need some of their first- and second-round picks to actually become cornerstone players for the team’s future. It’s been far too long since that happened. Considering the team’s poor performance this season, it would be particularly damaging if they strike out again in 2024.
The Jets acquired Nathaniel Hackett, Allen Lazard, Randall Cobb, and Tim Boyle at Rodgers’ request. How did it go?

In each of the past two seasons, Lamar Jackson was injured at the end of the year, causing the Ravens to either miss the playoffs altogether or lose early. I hope that doesn’t happen this year — especially since the Ravens have already lost Mark Andrews and Keaton Mitchell.
Manager Jake Browning has done a good job keeping the Bengals with Burrow out this year, but he knows Burrow needs to be at full capacity if the Bengals are to be a Super Bowl contender in the future. ing. That never happened this year, between a calf issue in training camp and a season-ending wrist injury. Let’s hope it’s abnormal.
Now, this is what the Browns have wanted since the beginning of their existence. But that doesn’t mean it’s not something they should want right now.
The Matt Canada era was a disaster in every way. The post-Matt Canada era looked fun for a week, but then fell apart. The Steelers need to make some major changes on offense this coming offseason, and they must not be afraid to make creative hires and venture outside their comfort zone.

CJ Stroud is expected to miss his second straight game due to concussion protocols. Tank Del ended his year’s run with a broken leg. These two are very good and have a lot of fun, so I hope they’ll be in top shape for next season. (No matter what the Texans do this year, it’s just a bonus when it comes to the playoffs.)
We’ve seen for years that Steichen knows exactly what he’s doing when it comes to positioning the quarterback and the offense in general for success. We saw it with Jalen Hurts in Philadelphia during Justin Herbert’s rookie season when he was the offensive coordinator in Los Angeles, and we’ve seen it with both Richardson and Gardner Minshew. Expect a long, happy and successful partnership between the head coach and the ridiculously talented quarterback.
Many (myself included) thought Lawrence would take a big step forward this year, his second season under coach Doug Pederson. For various reasons, that didn’t really happen. He’s still very healthy and has an incredibly bright future. But the steps he takes to become a yearly MVP candidate and a guy who leads his team deep into the playoffs year after year is what we’re looking for.
The Titans are almost certain to move on from the Derrick Henry/Ryan Tannehill era this offseason. They need to be the ones who build the next era around Levi.
AFC West
Wilson’s numbers seem pretty good this season. The movie doesn’t tell exactly the same story. If things aren’t bad enough for the Broncos to draft a successor, Wilson is averaging a career-low in yards per attempt and is not a high-volume ball hitter, but a great player who will drive the team’s success. It is necessary. They commit sacks, their teams can’t get the ball in the end zone for some reason, and they end up with an unsustainably high touchdown rate.
Well, the Chiefs stuff is pretty self-explanatory.
Mark Davis has never been as patient as his father when it comes to finding a head coach or general manager. Or quarterback. Or players in other positions. But Al Davis did have some success, at least during his tenure. I still can’t say the same about Mark. It is imperative that he finds the right people to lead the organization and let them do what needs to be done.
The Brandon Staley era is over, and so is the Tom Telesco era. The Spanos family has a talented quarterback who will lead the franchise into the future. Now we need to find the best possible talent to get the most out of our extremely talented players.
