The best gift for sports fans is a championship from their favorite team, but what about the athletes themselves? Of course they want championships, too, but not every athlete can win a championship every year. Plus, superstars in the MLB, NFL, NBA, and NHL often already have everything they want. So instead, they embrace the season of giving and often introduce their lifestyle to their sporting families.
For athletes, Christmas time is often an opportunity to realize the benefits of having a world-class athlete as one of their closest friends. They spare no expense to show their loved ones how much they appreciate them.
Here are some of the best examples of gifts in sports this season.

Luka loves giving transportation gifts. Last year, he acquired scooters for Mavericks players and staff. This year it’s a bike. Certainly, the Mavericks should have no problem showing up to practice on time next season.
Los Angeles Dodgers DH/P Shohei Ohtani
For his first season with the Los Angeles Dodgers, two-time American League MVP Shohei Ohtani stole his No. 17 uniform from his beloved Dodger Joe Kelly. To make it up to Kelly, Ohtani gave Kelly’s wife a brand new Porsche.
Ashley Kelly was one of the biggest proponents of bringing Ohtani to the Dodgers. Before Joe Kelly confirmed he was willing to give up his jersey number, Ashley Kelly said her husband would be happy to do so. The only problem is that Ohtani may now have to buy all his teammates’ wives new Porsches. But I’m sure the $700 million man can afford it.
Rams give Puka Nacua his first TD ball.
Puka Nacua is known for catching touchdowns, and you can imagine the surprise of the Los Angeles Rams when Nacua threw his first-ever receiving touchdown into the stands in Indianapolis on October 1st. Dew. In the heat of the moment, Nacua threw the ball to a fan who wasn’t even rooting for his team. Fortunately, the Rams have some FBI detectives in management.
Nacua seemed very grateful for this gift. Scoring your first touchdown in the NFL is always a special accomplishment, and Nacua probably regretted throwing away his first touchdown after his initial excitement wore off.
Mahomes gives lineman a golf cart
I know what they say, but take care of your teammates who take care of you. Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes took great care of his offensive line.
Every casual golfer knows that the best part of golf is hot dogs and cart driving around the turns. Some of Mahomes’ linemen don’t play golf, but being able to travel around in a fun machine like this is always a great Christmas present.
Christian McCaffrey gets team new golf clubs
What could be better than a golf cart? How about a fancy golf bag, fitted clubs, and a bottle of tequila? Every 49ers offensive player received each of these items, courtesy of MVP candidate Christian McCaffrey.
These gifts were especially sweet for quarterback Brock Purdy, who is making just $800,000 this year. Regarding the gift McCaffrey gave his teammate, Purdy told reporters, “I don’t think we can cover it financially right now.”
