A fire broke out at an auto auction facility in Denton County early on Christmas Eve, damaging nearly 60 vehicles.
Denton County Emergency Services responded to a suspected grass fire near Interstate 35 West north of Fort Worth just after 1:30 a.m., according to a Facebook post.
Along the way, emergency personnel saw “a large column of smoke and flames” coming from the west side of Interstate 35. Upon arrival, multiple vehicles were found engulfed in flames at a large car auction facility, the newspaper said.

Flower Mound Fire Department, Justin Volunteer Fire Department, Roanoke Fire Department, Tarrant County ESD, Fort Worth Fire Department, and Denton City Fire Department all responded to the scene.
The fire was declared extinguished at 3:09 a.m. It was a large-scale fire that involved a total of 58 vehicles.
The Denton County Fire Marshal’s Office is currently investigating the incident.
