FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) — The building at 2210 Inwood Drive has been on the market for years following an investigation into Dr. Ulrich “George” Klopfer, who performed abortions there.
In September 2019, more than 2,400 fetuses were discovered at Klopfer’s property in Illinois after his death.
Once the building was put up for sale, it sat there for many years.
LTD Property Group, a real estate investment company that buys and sells homes, recently purchased the building for use as new office space.
CEO Dakota Bailey told WANE 15 he didn’t know the building’s history at first, but learning didn’t deter him from purchasing it.
“That’s where I feel like God is really using me and using our company because I want to see a more positive future, a better future, and some kind of vision that people have. Because I feel like I’m one of the people who really believes in that.”If I think it’s bad, I’m going to leave, and I’m going to run towards it.” It’s like, let’s turn this into something better,” Bailey said.
He wants the building to be a symbol of hope and positivity.
The interior will be completely renovated and the exterior will be painted.
Mr Bailey said he would also raise funds for a mural to be painted on the side of the building. Although there are no official plans, the hope is that the mural will serve as a memorial and send a message of hope.
